There are many homeowners that enjoy having birds chirping in the morning when they wake up, and it’s not uncommon for homes to have bird-feeders to attract them. However, as with all wildlife, when they enter our living spaces, birds can become pests.
Bird droppings contain uric acid, and this can erode most building materials. Their droppings could also carry disease that could prove fatal to humans.
Some birds will nest inside of your gutters, causing water to pool and do damage. If they nest inside of ventilation or exhaust systems, this could decrease the efficiency of your system, or even pose a fire hazard.
Your best protection against a bird infestation is to remove places where they can nest and roost, and to remove any easily accessible food. There are some devices that can scare away birds, but there is a chance they can get accustomed to these and make them inefficient.
